The Bird Dog Foundation's Annual Youth Art Contest for grades K-12 is held each year and has become very popular with local students. The program is available for students of schools or home schools that are within a 75-mile radius of the National Bird Dog Museum in Grand Junction, TN. Description

The Tennessee General Assembly created the Christa McAuliffe Scholarship program to honor the memory of Christa McAuliffe, a high school teacher who lost her life in the space shuttle Challenger accident. The scholarship program was established to encourage promising Tennesseans who have a commitment to teaching and inspiring young minds to explore and achieve their highest potential. This scholarship is a one time $500. To be considered, students must be a rising college junior enrolled full-time in a teacher education program in an accredited Tennessee postsecondary institution, and ave completed at least their first semester of their junior year. Description

The Dora Maclellan Brown Ministry Scholarships are one of the most unique in the country. Named in honor and memory of the founder of The Generosity Trust, these scholarships have been awarded since 1965 to students from the greater Chattanooga area who are studying for current or future ministry service. These scholarships are available to theologically and Biblically conservative students who are taking classes or completing master’s degrees (no doctoral candidates) at a theological seminary, Bible College, or a seminary-like program at graduate school. This scholarship is for students who seek to work full or part-time in vocational Christian services.  This includes pastoral ministry, Biblical counseling, international missions, and other similar outreaches. The Ida Ballard Simon offers the Memorial Scholarship Fund to support graduate seniors from Memphis and Shelby County, Tennessee High Schools to meet Lincoln University financial requirements. Description

The Foundation’s scholarship program awards annual grants for the education of deserving female students with financial need at more than 200 accredited educational institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Most of the scholarship grants support undergraduate higher education, though the Foundation maintains a special interest in health education. A significant number of our grants target education in the medical, nursing and allied health fields. In accordance with the will that established the Foundation, grantee institutions use Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation grants to award need-based scholarships to Christian women who live in one of the specified states. More than 10,000 students receive scholarships each year in individual amounts determined by their respective institutions. The Betty W. Robbins Endowed Scholarship was established in 1995 by the Robbins family in memory of Betty Robbins of Ruston, Louisiana, who served the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA), Inc. as Director of Region V, First Vice-President and President (1992-1993). Contributions from Junior Auxiliary Chapters, the National Association, the Robbins family, memorials, and honorary gifts from individuals and groups support the Program.
