The Facility Management Corporation (FMC) Ice Sports offers the Ice Sports Skaters Scholarship, which was developed in 1993 to provide financial assistance to ice sports participants and recreational ice skaters that demonstrate personal excellence on and off the ice. The Garden Club Federation of Maine (GCFM) offers the Horticulture Scholarship, which is awarded to college juniors and seniors or graduate students who are legal residents of the State of Maine and not related to a GCFM Board Member. (College sophomores are eligible as they will be entering their junior year the following fall.) It’s My Heart New England, which is a non-profit organization that created to advocate for and provide support to those affected by Acquired and Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) offers the It’s My Heart New England Scholarship Program to support and encourage the continuation of higher education to all those in New England affected by Congenital Heart Defects. Applicants must be diagnosed with Congenital Heart Defect; must be the recipient of a heart transplant; or be a family member (sibling, child, parent, close relative) of a person diagnosed with a CHD. Description

Maine Community Foundation scholarships provide financial assistance for Maine residents attending accredited colleges, universities, technical and career schools. The funds also support students attending private high schools, camps, and experiential learning programs. The community offers over 600 scholarships yearly, each scholarship has its own eligibility requirements and review process. The Maine Grocers and Food Producers Association (MGFPA)  offers $1,000 in scholarship each year to three students who have successfully completed requirements for graduation from an accredited high school, is a resident of the State of Maine, and has been accepted by a college or university. The program is eligible for high school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who might be children of full-time or part-time employees/or owners of companies that are MGFPA members (the employee must have been employed for at least six months at the time of application); or Part-time or Full-time student employees of companies which are MGFPA members (the student must have been employed for at least six months prior to application). Please visit the scholarship provider's website for more information.

Description

Maine offers the Veterans Dependents Educational Benefits program, a 100% tuition and fee waiver for spouses and dependents of veterans who have a 100% permanent and total service-connected disability or who meet other eligibility requirements, such as being killed in action.
