Description

The USDA/1890 National Scholars Program seeks to increase the number of minorities studying agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, and related disciplines. The program provides full tuition, employment, employee benefits, fees, books, and room and board each year for up to 4 years to selected students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, food science, natural resource science, or a related academic discipline at one of 19 designated 1890s land-grant universities and Tuskegee University. The scholarship may be renewed each year, contingent upon satisfactory academic performance and normal progress toward the bachelor's degree. All USDA/1890 National Scholars are required to compete for appropriate USDA employment immediately after graduation. The Alpha Delta Kappa Future Educator Scholarship is awarded to assist Alpha Delta Kappa Collegiate Club education majors approaching or in their last two years of coursework with tuition, room and board and course materials. The Amos and Edith Wallace Scholarship was founded to reward young, bright African American students who have demonstrated exemplary commitment to service and education. The scholarship is in honor of the late Rev. Amos Wallace Sr. and his Wife of 53 years, Mrs. Edith Wallace. The Scholarship Award was established by their granddaughter, Terra Lynn Wallace, a class of 1997 graduate of Kankakee High School.
